Away Mission La Brea Tar Pits & Museum

May 30: The USS Angeles will meet at noon at La Brea Tar Pits & Museum, 5801 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles 90036. This is our chance to see the museum before it closes July 7 for what it calls a two-year “mammoth makeover.” Admission costs $18 for adults and $14 for seniors 62 and older. After we dig deep into the past, we’ll surface for culture just down the street at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 5905 Wilshire Blvd. LACMA tickets cost $30 for adults, $26 for seniors 65 and older as well as students, and $15 for kids ages 3-17.
