Month of March

We have many activities for the month of March so be sure to check out our Events Page

Our Next Events

March 21st, The USS Angeles will beam down at noon to the Trona Pinnacles, the filming site for Sha Ka Ree, the planet of God, from “Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.” While there, we can ask, as Capt. Kirk did, “What does God need with a starship?” The Trona Pinnacles are about 20 miles east of Ridgecrest and lie in the California Desert Conservation Area. Access is on a Bureau of Land Management dirt road, RM 143, which leaves State Route 178, 7.7 miles east of the intersection of SR 178 and the Trona-Red Mountain road. The dirt road is accessible for two-wheel drive vehicles, but may be closed after a heavy rain, according to BLM. Its more than 500 tufa spires made it an ideal planet for “Star Trek.” For more information, see <a href=”http://comicconrevolution.com/

Away Mission: Red Rock Canyon State Park

March 22nd The USS Angeles will beam down at noon to Red Rock Canyon State Park, 37749 Abbott Drive, Cantil 93519, accessible from Highway 14. The Mojave Desert park is featured in everything from “Jurassic Park” to “Ghostbusters” and the dramatic black-and-white pilot for the original “Lost in Space” series (before the show became campy). Members going to the “Star Trek V: The Final Frontier” site on March 21 are staying overnight at a hotel of their choice in Ridgecrest, where prices range from $58 to $76. Red Rock Canyon State Park is about 35 miles from Ridgecrest.
