Angeles encounters Minions in LA

By Commodore Dave Mason

LOS ANGELES — USS Angeles members laughed and cheered when we saw the Minions in their latest movie July 12 at The Grove.

We enjoyed “Minions & Monsters” at the AMC theater near Television City (formerly CBS Television City) in Los Angeles’ Fairfax District.

Janice Willcocks, Lisa Sobien, Christopher Mulrooney, Bill Johns, Kristine Cherry, Dennis Cherry and I watched the latest animated “Despicable Me” prequel, in which three Minions – James, Henry and Ed –  try to make a movie during the early days of Hollywood. They just need some good monsters. The problem is, they find them.

After the Illuminations studio’s movie, most of us went to the Farmers Market, where we sat together at one table but went to different outlets for food. Some of us got pastrami sandwiches and a hamburger, and others enjoyed pizza and Chinese food. No offense to the Minions, we didn’t grab any bananas.
