Angeles participates in AIDS Walk L.A.
By Commodore Dave Mason
WEST HOLLYWOOD — USS Angeles members took a step in the right direction — many steps, in fact — at AIDS Walk Los Angeles.
Lili Queen, Joe Queen, Cassie Queen, Jeremy Kranz and I joined thousands of walkers at the annual West Hollywood event Oct. 13 on Santa Monica Boulevard. We gathered beforehand at West Hollywood Park, where we participated in warm-up routines, checked out various booths and heard guest speakers and a singer performing “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”
During the 2-mile walk, we were entertained by everyone from mariachi and percussion ensembles to people standing in colorful costumes on stilts and cheerleaders high in the air. No one missed a beat.

The walk is over, but fundraising isn’t. So far, the USS Angeles AIDS Walk team has raised $115, and we’re still accepting donations. To contribute, click here.
