The Nichelle Nichols Farewell Convention has been rescheduled for July 2-5 in Burbank.

Organizers say more guests and programming have been added for the event at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport, 2500 N. Hollywood Way. Guests vary from Walter Koenig (Chekov) to Marina Sirtis (Troi in the “Star Trek” series “Next Generation” and “Picard”) and Sonequa Martin-Green (Burnham in “Star Trek: Discovery”).

The convention in honor in Nichols, forever known as the original Uhura on “Star Trek,” was originally scheduled for May 1-3. Like other public events, it was postponed because of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Several USS Angeles members plan to attend the convention honoring Nichols, who, besides acting, recruited the first women and minorities who became astronauts.
