‘Star Trek’ 57 years and counting
Friday, Sept.8, 2023, marked the 57th anniversary of the start of the iconic “Star Trek” franchise created by Gene Roddenberry. “Star Trek” premiered on NBC on Sept. 8, 1966, with the episode “The Man Trap.”
Most “Star Trek” series and the J.J. Abrams-produced “Star Trek” movies can be streamed on Paramount+. The first season of the animated “Star Trek: Prodigy” is on Netflix, and the second season is expected to stream on the same service sometime this year. The new season isn’t listed on Netflix’s releases for January through April, but stay tuned.
